Manyara offers a compact virtial microcosm of the Tanzania safari experience. From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle where hundred strong baboon troops lounge along the road side, blue monkey scamper nimbly between ancient mahogany trees. Over 400 species of bird have been recorded and one can expect to see 100 of these on a day viewing. The park is famous for its legendary tree climbing lions and impressive tusk elephants.
