Tanzania Hotels & flights added this last week

 — Mbwana@ 5:14 am

In the last post, we highlighted the new packages and tours we added. Now we ramping up on adding other partners on our site with their 2011 prices. We are getting into the groove of delivering the promise of making travel as transparent and painless as possible in Tanzania and it is great to finally see this happen all in one place.

New accommodation whilst on Safari in the Northern Circuit: We added some Safari Lodges from Lemala Camp Group, great collection of mid to upper range accomodation with camps in Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Tarangire Parks. These are now showing up in our search:

Zanzibar Beach Paradise spots: We then added some great places to relax in Zanzibar on both the South East: Paje, Bwejuu and Jambiani as well as the popular northern beaches of Nungwi and Kendwa. Our stonetown hotel of the week- Seyyidda, one of the newer and affordable high quality accommodation options.

Other of the beaten path options: What about other things beside the usual safari and Zanzibar? We are adding those too. Check out listings we have on Dodoma, Pangani and Arusha.

Or how about Hondo Hondo at the Udzungwa Forest near Morogoro- easily accessible with half a day’s drive from Dar es Salaam.

New flights to new destinations: If that’s not enough- we have also expanded flights listed on our search to include fly540 within Tanzania and between Dar es Salaam and Nairobi and expanded options with precisionair- these add more affordable and shorter flights (between $270-400 return) from Dar es Salaam to Mtwara, Mwanza and Shinyanga.

Tanzania hotels, tours signup roadshow in August

Are you a hotel, tour company or charter airline  in Tanzania looking to take advantage of ecommerce and online travel? This is the post for you.

The Yellow Masai team up to this point has been working very much in a distributed manner- Product management and engineering is being done out of San Francisco, California and Chandigarth, India- this is both challenging and advantageous for the team to move quickly and build a high quality services, and will deserve another blog post in future, but we love that we are instantly global since we started the company. Our Partner signup, marketing and core operations is of course from Arusha, Tanzania. But in August, the main core team (minus engineering in India) will come together and we’ll be encouraging signups by visiting tourism providers across the country in a “signup roadshow”- we have an ambitious goal of signing up 1,000 companies and create the largest database of Tanzania travel related merchants on the site. Our friends at Envaya have had much success in this manner signing up NGOs. We plan to cover the major regions of the northern circuit and Zanzibar to begin with- in our visits we will demonstrate the Yellow Masai travel e-commerce platform, explain out value and get feedback before we complete the technology investment.

If you have any questions- please leave comments on this blog- sign up module has been updated with full Tanzania location data.
